About this book

Confusion about governance abounds. Many lack appreciation of how different traditions of thought in the social sciences contribute to our understanding. This book tackles these weaknesses head on and aims to provide a wider vision of the area, examining three critical areas of practice: environmental, corporate and participatory governance.

Reviews

Governance is one of the most widely used and yet least well understood concepts in academia and policy practice. Chhotray and Stoker have done us all a great favour by bringing together crucial insights from a range of disciplines concerning the theory and practice of governance. Compherensive and accessible, this book deserves to be widely read.
