About this book

In Action Research Methods, the authors acknowledge that the methodology component is where most of the struggle and confusion lies with students in research methods courses. The overall aim is to assist master's level education students with practical and theoretically grounded approaches to the action research process.

Reviews

"Sheri R. Klein's anthology, Action Research Methods, contains a wide range of approaches for understanding and conducting action research. Readers can engage in useful exercises at the end of each chapter that will help bridge the gap between theory and practice. This is an excellent text for graduate students and teachers." - Kristin G. Congdon, Professor Emerita, University of Central Florida

"Action Research Methods is long overdue. As a rich resource for students and educators in a wide array of settings, this primer will stand the test of time. It will be the first book action researchers reach for as they design, imagine, and enact new inquiries. Moreover, art educators will simply love this book as it balances the visual with text, image with ideas, and visuality with action. It is a 'must-have' for every action researcher!" - Rita L. Irwin, professor, Art Education, Associate Dean, Teacher Education, University of British Columbia

"Sheri R. Klein has added amuch-needed perspective on action research with this case study collection for education- and community-based studies, covering a number of critical issues in interdisciplinary, interpretive, and critical research. Eminently practical while addressing ethical and political complexities of action research, the contributors cover the full range of the action research process and methods, including portfolios and the often overlooked visual- and arts-based methods that are gaining currency in educational research." - Eugenie Samier, coordinator of the EdD Programme, International Management and Policy, The British University in Dubai
